Forgotten Hope (The Road To 0.6 :: Day 12)05.12.2003 22:00 GMT Greetings everyone, it appears that it is time for your
weekly fix, so without further delay on with the show.
First on the list is France's Somua 35 Calvary tank. Entering service in 1935 500 of these tanks had been produced by 1940. It was armed with a 47mm SA35 L/34 main gun. At the time of Germany's invasion 250 were on front line duty. Next up is a model render of the Soviet KV-2 Heavy tank. Armed with a 152 mm M1938/40 L/20 main gun it was more than a match for most German tanks on the Eastern front. However with great strength comes consequences, the tank was very unweildy due to the large weight of the turret. The third installment of todays update is the British 17 pounder Anti Tank gun. This gun was used in the later part of the Desert war and in the battle in Europe. With a maximum range of 3000 yards this gun was definately a weapon to fear. The 17 pounder could take out a tiger at up to 1000 yards. And last but definately not least, we have a very nice tool for all of you on the battlefield. The American Bangalore Torpedo. This device was a tube packed with explosives that was slid under obstacles. Setting the charge shredded the obstacles above it allowing infantry to advance through the area. Well that's all for this week, hope to see you back next friday.
