Had enough yet? I thought not... by: B.F. Pierce 30.09.2004 22:00 GMT
Hello again from all of us on the Forgotten Hope Mod Dev Team! I've got yet another update for you all today, and i'll have another one again on thursday sometime during the day. Today We'd like to present the changelog for Forgotten Hope version 0.65, it's quite extensive as it's a list of all the vehicles we're added to the battlefield1942 game engine since the beginning. You'll be able to drive, fly, and fight with all of these vehicles on our more than 20 custom maps! This changelogs so big i'm putting it on it's own page so it doesn't clutter up the news! Forgotten Hope 0.65 Changelog Having trouble getting bit-torrent to work? Well fear no more, i've gotten some common download mirrors of the passworded .rar file. Remember that you will not be able to install or unpack the .rar file until friday when we release the password! I also have another link from an asian hoster for the western pacific. Check that out below! I also have three new renders to show off today, all of these vehicles you've seen but we felt it would be worth it to put them up here anyways so you can really see the detail of these vehicles! Below we have the Matilda with all 4 of it's skins, the schwimmwagen, and also the Willy jeep with rocket launcher. That's all for now folks, but within the next 24 hours I'll have one more update to put up, then it's friday, and you all know what that means! Be sure to stop by our public forums below, and don't forget to get in on the irc channel for some good times!
Coming soon to a "404 error page not found" near you! by: B.F. Pierce 22.09.2004 22:00 GMT
As some of you might have noticed, our main page went down for a short time after we released the bit-torrent link for version 0.65. This is both a good and bad sign, good that so many people are interested, however bad since we're anticipating that our draw will eventually bog down our hosting server at some points on friday. We're confident that our hoster, bf1942files will be able to keep control, but we're taking precautions to ease the strain to the webserver so that they don't have to deal with it. We would like to ask all of you to please not barrage our forums on friday if this occurs, we're offering several methods of receiving the password to the password protected .rar file. First off, we're going to be distributing the password in the forgotten hope mod IRC channel. Haven't been over to our irc channel yet or don't know exactly what to do to get to the channel? Well we have just the solution for you, check out Eglaerinion's tutorial on getting irc and logging yourself into our channel here! Even if you've never used IRC before, you can get all the information you need in this great thread by one of our fans. Hopefully we'll be able to avert a crisis on friday, we're currently setting up another server to better distribute the load, so if all goes well we won't go down, keep your fingers crossed, but even if our page ends up going down on friday don't panic. Our news will be relayed to the other news sites and also posted in our message boards, so there should be no difficulties in getting the password or the mod on friday as long as you remain patient with us and our hosters. One more bit of information that we feel we should make very clear right up front yet again. Version 0.65 is a full installation of Forgotten Hope. There will be no patch from previous versions of FH, it became quite obvious to us that a patch would be just about the same size as releasing a full version, so we're going to make a clear slate for the future in order to make smaller patches in the future. Please make sure you delete your previous version of Forgotten Hope before installing this newer version on friday! I've also updated the list of mirrors for the server version of the mod, so if you're a server provider and you were having any trouble getting the file there's two more mirrors for the linux and windows server versions. We should also be able to put up one or two mirrors for the password protected client version of the mod so that people who don't know how to use bit-torrent or were having problems with the program can get the file early as well. Thanks goes out to gaming4all.de, www.bf42.de, and bf-news.de for tossing us some mirrors quickly. If you're mirroring any part of the release so far and don't see your links posted feel free to send me the links to my mail and i'll get you put up here as well. But wait, there's more! What news update would be complete without some very nice screenshots of the new version? Today I'd like to present to you Operation Goodwood, a map done by GI_JoeJK. And finally for today, I'd like to post the remaining three wallpapers done by lobo, Hope you enjoy, and see you right back here tomorrow for another update from the Forgotten Hope team! Be sure to drop by our public forums here and get in on the release action!

Greetings again everyone, and welcome back to another update from the Forgotten Hope Mod Team. We have some big news for you all today. We're finishing testing the linux server version of version 0.65 of FH, and as soon as that is finished we're going to announce a release date and begin distributing over bit-torrent as well as emule. This release will be going similar to the last release, if you don't remember how that worked here's the scoop. Sometime once we verify there are no further problems with the server version of the mod (which should be sometime this weekend) we'll post the links for emule and bit-torrent distribution. These links will allow you to download Forgotten Hope 0.65, however this file will be password protected. What this does is allow people with slower connections and those who simply prefer this method of download to get the file. On the date that we post for the official public release of the mod, we'll post a password to open this file. Simply put, you can download earlier and get the latest version, but you will not be able to play it until we release the password! We will be giving out more details as we continue with the release schedule later on this weekend. However today we'd like to reveal two new screenshots of the new upcoming version, as well as three wallpapers for your viewing pleasure! First up are the two screenshots, today we present the American Willy's Jeep equipped with rockets, as well as the German Schwimmwagen with a brand new skin done by Rad! And lastly we'd like to present three wallpapers, with more on the way. These were all done by Lobo and come in the standard desktop sizes. Simply click on the size you want and it'll take you to the file! That's all for this update, but stay tuned for later on this weekend for the full news of the release of Forgotten Hope version 0.65, including bit-torrent and emule distribution links.
