Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

Today we are proud to finally be able to release Forgotten Hope 2.45! Below you will be able to find a list of mirrors for the un-passworded 2.45 files, as well as the password for the pre-release torrent.

And now, without any further delay, the password for the Forgotten Hope 2.45 torrent files is:

ForHoppen-goTe-2012

Also new in version 2.45 is a tool that will fix stretching of the HUD and menu caused by different screen aspect ratios. It also allows you to easily switch immersive mode on and off. Immersive mode will hide most of the HUD elements such as the minimap. It will run the first time you start Forgotten Hope 2.45, and can be rerun from the FH2 start menu folder.

To help you through the process of installing Forgotten Hope 2.45, we've prepared some step-by-step instructions. You will need to download both part 1 and 2, totalling 4.1 GB. After extracting the installer, just open the files and it should guide you through the rest of the installation, and then you are good to start playing!

If you've downloaded the client files without the password (you will find links to these files below) then all you have to do is run the .exe files and follow the instructions to complete in installation. IMPORTANT: if you have any custom files (e.g. custom maps) in your \mods\FH2\ folder that you would like to keep you must back them up before running the installer, as it will remove previous versions.

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

We'd like to start today's update with a trailer made by betatester Kubador. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

While you are watching the trailer, why not prepare yourself for tomorrow's release by downloading the passworded torrent files. The password to extract and install these files will be released tomorrow at the same time as the non-passworded direct download links. You will need a bittorrent program to download these files, many of these can be downloaded for free.

The following torrent contains everything you will need to play Forgotten Hope 2.45. Unfortunately, there is no patch from 2.4 to 2.45. The torrent contains two password protected RAR archives containing the installers, when the time comes you will need to extract both and install them.

Download the Forgotten Hope 2.45 Torrent - now without password !

Remember, you will not be able to access the actual files until this Friday. If you do not wish to download these torrent files, you can wait until Friday at 18:00 GMT to download the un-passworded files from a list of mirror sites.

If you are a server administrator and would like to have your server up and running by this Friday for the release, you can download the necessary files here.

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

Today we have a few screenshots of some new American vehicles that you will be able to find on the map Sidi Bou Zid. First up is the M3 Halftrack. Entering service in 1941, it was an improvement over the earlier and smaller M2 Halftrack and featured a rear door to the crew compartment. It differs from the later M3A1 variant already featured in Forgotten Hope 2 in that the armament is pintle mounted above the front seats rather than on a ring mount above the front right seat. The M3 Halftrack was made by Agus and exported by Kev4000.

Next up we have two Gun Motor Carriages based on the M3 Halftrack. The first of these is the 75mm Gun Motor Carriage M3. The success of the German armour in the invasion of France showed the need for an effective tank destroyer, and a solution was quickly found by mounting a 75mm Gun M1897A4 onto an M3 Halftrack chassis. Making up the majority of all tank destroyers in service in the North African Campaign, by 1944 it was considered obsolete in Europe although it continued to see service in the Pacific Campaign until the end of the war. The M3 GMC was made by Agus, Darren and Pointblank and exported by Kev4000.

The second variant on show today is the M13 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage. The US Army recognised the need for a mobile anti-aircraft gun, and had initially used various vehicles armed with single machineguns. With the adoption of the M33 twin M2HB powered mount, they had an effective weapon, and in 1942 the M33 mounted onto the M3 Halftrack was standardised as the M13 MGMC. However, within months it had become substitute standard with the adoption for the M16 MGMC armed with the more powerful M45 quad mount. The M13 MGMC was made by Agus and exported by Kev4000.

You will also be able to find the M33 dual mount as a stationary anti-aircraft gun.

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

As you can no doubt guess from the title, today we are pleased to announce that Forgotten Hope 2 version 2.45 will be released later this week at:

Friday 13th July 2012 @ 18:00 UTC

Although this comes a full year after the last release, we think that the many changes that have been made in this time will make version 2.45 well worth the wait. Remember to stay tuned throughout the week for more information and of course the all important final part this Friday.

We would also like to give a special 'thank you' to our beta testing team. Without their continued support and dedication, there would be no FH2 as we know it.

As well as the release date, today we'd like to tell you about the third and final map that features in version 2.45. This time we find ourselves on the flat and dusty landscape of Tunisia. In attack and counterattack, both sides will have a helping hand from the abundant flora that makes this landscape so different from the sandy wastes you might be more familiar with. The map Sidi Bou Zid was made by Lili Marlene, with finishing touches made by Stubbfan.

The American landings in Morocco changed the balance of forces in North Africa drastically, forcing the Axis into a struggle for survival on two fronts. However, there was still some fight left in their battered forces: On February the 14th 1943 the 21st and 10th Panzer Divisions launched a strong offensive against American forces in the Tunisian village of Sidi Bou Zid. Among their forces also were some of the new heavy Tiger tanks. While they managed to break through the Allied lines, the Americans were already preparing a counter attack to regain the lost ground...

Our winner for this week's screenshot competition is Listenchump. You can view the winning submission here.

We are now accepting entries for the week of July 9th. The winner will be announced in the final part. If you think you have the best FH2 screenshot, post them here.

That's all for today, but be sure to come back tomorrow for another update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel, our public forums, and/or our Twitter and Facebook pages to discuss this update and other news.

Hello and welcome back to another Forgotten Hope 2 update.

This week we have a render of some long requested playermodels. The 101st Airborne Division has finally dropped onto the battlefield!

Activated on 16th August 1942, the 101st had "no history, but it had a rendezvous with destiny." The division was shipped over the Atlantic in preparation for the invasion of France. The 101st were given the task of dropping onto the Cotentin Peninsula and securing vital objectives such as the causeways leading off Utah Beach and bridges and locks along the Douve River. The drops were scattered and it took several days before the division was organised and had completed its objectives.

The division dropped again during Operation Market Garden, where it secured several bridges between Nijmegen and Eindhoven. After 72 days combat, the division was pulled back to France for rest and relaxation, which was cut short by the German offensive through the Ardennes. Besieged at the crossroads town of Bastogne, the 101st refused to surrender and despite critical shortages of ammunition and medical supplies they held on until the siege was broken by Patton's 3rd Army. No member of the 101st has ever agreed that the division needed to be rescued.

Their last action in Europe was the capture of the Berghof. The 101st received 2 Presidential Unit Citations and suffered 2090 killed and 6388 wounded. The playermodels were modelled by Pointblank, with heads by Zero and kits by Remdul. You'll be able to see them on the maps Purple Heart Lane and Ramelle Neuville

Our winner for this week's screenshot competition is pizzzaman12. You can view the winning submission here.

We are now accepting entries for the week of July 2nd. If you think you have the best FH2 screenshot, post them here.

That's all for this week, but be sure to come back next week for another update. Until then, feel free to visit our IRC channel, our public forums, and/or our Twitter and Facebook pages to discuss this update and other news.
