Welcome back for a news update whose content some of you may have seen already. Actually we wanted to keep them for a special event but sneaky fans were able to spy it out before. So no Valentines on Valentine's Day and we speculate that most of you already guessed about them when we showcased the Bishop. We hope you will like the great work anyway Montoya put into making the Valentine Mk II and Valentine Mk III.
Now everyone had a chance of having a look at the new Valentine. Revealing of Fan Mappack #2 Part 2 by: BUG$ 24.01.2005 20:00 GMT
As we promised in the last news update, here is part two of the maps for Fan Mappack #2. Welcome back and enjoy the show! We will start right off with the winner of the mapcontest, Neunen 1944, because we think you will be interested in this map most. Your first impression might be "Oh my god - another 1944 map". Well - on the surface you may be right. But why are there so many 1944 maps going on in Western Europe? Because it was the most active period for combat on the Western Front. The 1940 invasion of French was over quickly and until 1944, no major Allied forces returned to French Soil. In any case the good news is that it is not the Americans fighting the Germans. This map will put the British into action in Holland at the scene of one of the many actions that made up Operation Market Garden.
Don't expect the next map to be second place, because, as you might know "2nd place - 1st loser". For that reason there is only one winner. The following maps are in alphabetical order so there is no ranking or whatever here. The next map for today is Road to Ramelle, which pits American against German forces as part of the struggle for the Cotentin Peninsula following the invasion of Normandy, around the fictional town of Ramelle.
Last map for today is Trois Points which takes place in winter with the Germans on the one side versus Americans on the other. Trois Points was the scene of some of the fiercest fighting of the Ardennes offensive. Prepare for intense artillery battles in a foggy area.

Revealing lights for the Fan Mappack #2 by: BUG$ 21.01.2005 20:00 GMT
As already mentioned last news update we would like to give you a first look at the maps from the upcoming Fan Mappack #2. Today we have three maps: Burma, Chartres and Tali-Inhatala for you. So sit back and enjoy... The first map to showcase today is Burma, which is taking place where you might expect. It should offer some interesting action between the Japanese and British forces.
Second map for today's news update is Chartres. German troops try to defend a small town while the Americans must struggle to get all outposts under control.
And last but not least, Tali-Inhatala, a Northern map depicting a clash between Finnish and Russian forces. The battle takes place during the night and has an appealingly sinister atmosphere.

Welcome back folks for another update of your favorite Mod Forgotten Hope. "Infact, make this official, I will eat my hat if a Panzer 3 appears in next weekends news update.If it is I will post pics of the eating of the hat 8)" First of all we have the Panzer III for you. Not the version that will be included in the upcoming releases
(whenever - we are working on it) though... but the chance to see images of Capone eating his hat if an image of a Panzer III is released within this update... we could not withstand the temptation. :D
As the title of today's news suggests, we are finally ready to announce the Winner of our Map contest for Forgotten Hope Fan Mappack #2. It was a hard decision to make--the maps for the final round were close competitors. Many test games and discussions were needed. Mars made the best map in our eyes and we are proud to announce Neunen-1944 as the best map sent in. And, of course, we we did not forget the prize we promised. Mars may request a static and vehicle which will be in one of the upcoming Forgotten Hope release versions (not the Panzer III though :p) that he may use for one of his next maps. This must be a vehicle or static that could actually have been found on a Second World War battlefield, and must be of a reasonable scope (i e, a building, not a whole town). We reserve the right to turn down any request that we consider unsuitable or unreasonable, but we do not expect that there will be any problem, as long as Mars does not go off the deep end. Please note that there will be final adjustments (mostly balancing issues) made to the maps so it will take a little more time before we will be able to release the Fan Mappack #2. But to bridge the waiting time we will release 3 news specials for two maps a day each. So come back next week to see some screenshots of the maps. Next item we have got for you is that we traded some content with Battlefield 1918. In exchange for the flamethrower effect, Forgotten Hope received the German P08 Luger and the French Ruby pistols. But we do not only have new content from trading. Montoya has been busy lately and created the British Bishop, a self propelled artillery vehicle armed with a 25 pdr.
Last but not least we have a revised version of the Battle of Foy for you. Situated along the Houffalize-Bastogne road, the small village of Foy is one of the last communities before reaching Bastogne. It is well-known that the city of Bastogne was a key location to both sides during the 1944-45 Ardennes campaign. The Allies needed to keep control over the roads in the area while the Germans needed to clear them, in order to push on to the river Maas and finally reach Antwerp. The map is brought to you by ArminAce.

We are a little late with this news newsupdate, however BUG$ was ill and not able to bring the news up in time. Anyway - news doesn't get a cold. As you all might have noticed our page is a lil' bit out of date. Currently we are working on a massive page update and we want to add much more information than we have now. For that reason we are going to integrate a custom maps section and our links section will be expanded to show Minimods, Clans, Communitypages, Tournaments and Moddingstuff. So if you have any useful information mail it to BUG$ so he can add all the stuff to the page. But our homepage is not the only thing making good progress. The mod itself is doing even better. For today we have a small naval update for you including the "Depth Charge Projector Mark 6 Mod 1", commonly called the "K-Gun", that was used to launch the 300 pound cylindrical charge (Mk 6) or the 200 pound teardrop charge (Mk 9) and blast enemy subs. The model was created by Jackalx2k and the skin was made by Lobo.
Next thing to show is the IJN Tsurumi, a Japanese Shiretoko class oiler that had a maximum speed of 11 kn at a length of 143.5 m and a tonnage of 14.050 t, made by Messiha.
Last but not least we have a new East Front map for you. The battle of Seelow Heights took place in April '45 and was the last major battle between Russian and German troops before the Red Army reached Berlin. German troops tried to defend the hills of Seelow with a few PAK's and tanks against a far more numerous enemy. The map is brought to you by Turbo_Tiger.

Hello folks for an update by the Forgotten Hope Mod Team. For us, the year 2004 was eventful--both sad and beautiful--but in the end 2004 was a really satisfying year with the release of 0.66. We hope you've enjoyed it so far going into the new year. Welcome back to another update from the Forgotten Hope Mod team! We're happy to announce that after a slight break we're creating new content again in anticipation of the release of the next patch for Forgotten Hope. Today it's time to show a little bit of the stuff... but first of all we have some bad news. GI_JOEJK has decided to leave the mod and lead a new Battlefield 2 modification. We would like to thank him for the effort he put into the mod and the beautiful results of his work. His departure is a real loss but we wish him all the best and good luck for his own project! But we have some good news as well. Our sponsor Warumdarum.de has stuffed its downloadssection with a lot of Forgotten Hope footage. The downloads section of the website has 8 movies to offer including the tractor race and trailers from 0.5 to 0.66. Be sure to check by the site and have a look at the old trailers you might have missed or can't remember anymore. And here is some new content. First toy for today is a loan of the U.S. army to the Poles. The Light Machine Gun Browning Rkm wz. 28 used 7.92mm ammunition and will help you blast nice holes into your enemy. This useful weapon was made by Lobo.
Furthermore we have another toy to showcase. The first RC tank the world had ever seen. Tiny on the first view, powerful with its 100kg load of explosives, the Goliath made by Montoya will terrify your enemies. Just take a seat at the radio table Lobo made and start your ride.
