Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2.
Today, we are starting by showing off one of the more popular Soviet rifles; the SVT-40!
The SVT-40 was a Soviet, semi-automatic rifle, which featured a 10-round box magazine, a gas-operated action, and a range of 500 meters. It came into action after its predecessor, the SVT-38 was discontinued in 1938. Production began in June 1940, and by the time of the German invasion in 1941, the SVT was already widely distributed amongst Soviet infantry. Due to the harsh nature of the first few months of the war however, thousands of these semi-automatic rifles were lost in combat. To make up for this, weapons like the Mosin-Nagant and the PPSh-41 were given precedence, which led to a decline in production of the SVT. Factories were officially given the order to stop production of the rifle in 1942. In total, 1.6 million SVTs were produced, including over 51,000 sniper variants. The SVT-40 was made by Seth Soldier.
Next we have four screenshots of the newest Allied mobile artillery piece to make its way into the world of FH2; the British Bishop 25 pdr self-propelled gun.
The Bishop was imported from Forgotten Hope 1 by Kev4000 from the original vehicle which was done by Montoya.
Our winner for this week's screenshot competition is CLavish. You can view the winning submission here.
We are now accepting entries for the week of Nov. 13th. If you think you have the best FH2 screenshot, post them here.
Lastly, we have a message from the Forgotten Honor tournament. Here's what they had to say...
Forgotten Honor Proudly Presents
A brand new Forgotten Hope 2 campaign now open!
“....suddenly, without warning, a barrage of artillery started to hit our position. It was relentless and frightening. We had a great number of casualties. The destruction was immense.
The next hour or so, nothing happened. The silence was terrible. Then we spotted a column of troops marching toward us.
All of a sudden and no one knows from what direction, our entire platoon was infiltrated with Germans. Firing, screaming, running and flying bullets all over the place. As I ducked back into a foxhole, automatic small arms fire ripped into our emplacement. It was chaos!
Then we knew that the battle had begun..." |
In previous campaigns we have fought in the deserts of northern Africa, in the hills of Greece, in the towns of Italy and in the beaches of Normandy. In this campaign we will move to the Western Front and fight on the mountainous terrain and boggy mud and snow of the Ardennes region. From frantic fighting on the forests and ambushes among foxholes to large scale engagements between tanks and airplanes.
Throw yourself into wet foxholes for cover, brace for the shell-shock as the ground around you is pounded by artillery fire and have faith in your company mates when you assault your objective. Every week your team's skills and planning will be tested against an equally determined foe.
When you join this campaign, Forgotten Honor: The Last Offensive, you will experience:
- Forgotten Hope 2 at its best
- Intense battles for the Ardennes and Hürtgenwald
- Spawn points deployed by Squad Leaders, creating new tactical opportunities
- 2 sides fighting on a full 64 player server
