Hello and welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope 2. Today we return to our normal style of news update. Later today we'll release the third and final installment of the Forgotten Hope 2 Basic Training Course. Stay tuned for that.

In a news update many many months ago, we introduced the map Operation Aberdeen. This map has evolved and improved over time since then, and we'd like therefore to show you the version included with Forgotten Hope 2. Operation Aberdeen is by Augustus, Greasy Mullet (on secondment from Point of Existence 2) and Lobo.

Similarly, we also introduced the map Operation Hyacinth. Again, this map evolved and improved over time. Operation Hyacinth is by ctz and Lobo. It features objective mode for the 32 player size, handheld illumination flares and mannable emplaced spotlights (both with working dynamic lighting), allowing both attackers and defenders to use lighting to their advantage.

Operation Compass was the first major Allied military operation in the Western Desert Campaign. The Italians in the rest of Libya were unprepared for the speed of the attack under the leadership of Richard O'Connor. As the Commonwealth forces advanced, several large Italian units were surrounded, cut off from supply, and defeated. After some hard fighting, one position after another surrendered. Bardia is an as-yet unannounced map by Vic Colfari and Lobo and covers this confrontation.

Next, we have some updates to show on our Deutsches Afrikakorps and Gebirgsjäger player models by Zero with assistance from McGibs and exported by jodonnell.

Next we have the Willys MB which was modified in the field to add a Dual Vickers K (Gas Operated) light machinegun, as well as fitted with extra storage for supplies and spares for long range strikes at the rear of the enemy by the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG). This was modelled and skinned by Rad, with assistance from ctz. The Vickers K was modelled and textured by Rad, exported by jodonnell and coded by ctz.

The Sd.Kfz. 139 Marder III was a german tank destroyer commonly employed in the Western Desert Campaign. With an exposed cockput for the crew and poor armour, it's best used from a conceiled or hull-down position at long ranges. However, the gun is highly accurate and powerful enough to score a kill on the first hit on all but the heaviest of Allied armour. The Marder III was modelled by Toddel and Hail of Nails, textured by Toddel and exported and coded by ctz.

Last but by no means least, we have the 20mm Flakvierling. This anti-aircraft gun is sure to make mincemeat of allied aircraft in its range, delivering a huge rate of fire. This was modelled by Rad and textured, exported and coded by jodonnell.

Stay tuned for our next update later today!
