Crete Germany against Great Britain Early in the morning on the 20th of May 1941 elements of the German Fallschrimjager dropped over the British held Island of Crete. The battle took a major toll on the German air arm, and the british were forced to retire from the island. The casualties were so high on the part of the German Fallschrimjager that they were never used again in a direct air assault during the war. This level was designed by B.F. Pierce.
